CHI, The Spa at Shangri-La Hotel, Chiang Mai Makes its Debut -

SPA SHANGRI-LA

CHI, The Spa at Shangri-La Hotel, Chiang Mai has made its debut as the 12th CHI to open within the Shangri-La group.

Located in the midst of 4,600 square metres of tropical gardens, CHI, The Spa offers nine spacious, Thai-inspired villas all incorporating the signature CHI “spa within a spa” concept
.
CHI, The Spa in Chiang Mai is informally laid out as a Northern Thai fishing village and is set behind reflective waterways and privacy walls. The spa design incorporates the Northern Thai Lanna style using a blend of Thai bamboo, flowering plumeria and water features including fountains and wells with the CHI signature Himalayan design.

The main features of the spa include a pool-facing yoga pavilion and a commanding structure called “The Sanctum,” where guests begin their spa experience by discovering their Chinese five-element type.

All CHI therapies are based on the Chinese philosophy of the traditional five elements, in which metal, water, wood, fire and earth should be in balance with the positive yang and negative yin energy to restore balance and re-energize the mind and the body.
The CHI concept was developed in collaboration with a team of recognized experts in traditional Chinese medicine and Himalayan healing philosophies.

For people to maintain their health, it is believed that chi must flow freely within the body. Exercise, stretching, massage, hydrotherapy and movement of the mind through relaxation and meditation combine to assist the body’s natural renewal, forming the basis of the CHI experience.

In addition to the CHI signature treatments CHI, The Spa in Chiang Mai will also offer unique therapies, exclusive to this location incorporating local healing practices and ingredients, giving guests experiences distinct to Thailand’s north.
